liz and i had a two movie night. we started with she's the man, which is a teen comedy take on twelfth night. it's good, i had it in the kz and i've seen it a lot. it has vinnie jones and david cross and they're great. and channing tatum takes his shirt off a lot, which i like.
then we watched Adam, which we've had for a month but the Olympics stopped me from watching movies. it's a romance about a guy with aspergers. it's really sweet and quiet and interesting to watch. i wasn't sure what would happen and i liked finding out.
the guy who plays adam is now married to claire danes and i think he looks a lot like billy crudup and he left his pregnant girlfriend for claire. so, she totally has a type, huh?
SPOILER:
they don't get back together in the end, which really bothers me and made my sister really happy. i just feel reassured by happy endings, i know that plenty of endings aren't happy.

I heard about this on NPR and I was wondering about it cos one of my friends from library school has aspergers and he was dating a girl and he was a good friend and all but definitely working differently than you or I, so I wonder. I'm glad it was sweet and I do sort of like the not-happy ending, I feel like it's more hopeful, I feel snowed by happy endings, except Amelie, I love that happy ending. So, maybe I agree with you that I want them, but I also don't mind when they're not there.
ReplyDeleteShe's the Man sounds cute. I never watch movies like that. Why not?
