we have had something wicked this way comes (1983) FOREVER. we tried to watch it last night, but both couldn't stay awake, even though it was eleven. the movie's also slow, so it wasn't all our fault.
i love those ray bradbury stories. i think a lot of the magic and insight in the books comes from and narrator and the movie didn't have a narrator. in some ways, this is good movie making because narrators are often a sign of lazy story telling (my brother told me that) but it also meant that the movie lacked insight and some of the magic.
the plot is hard to describe, especially since i fell asleep, but it's the story of two boys, one light and one dark, and this evil carnavel that somes to town. The movie made me realize that i'm more like the light boy (will hallowy) who is careful and nervous. i think that the two boys are two sides of one person, so i'm sure i have some jim nightshade in me. you really should read the books the illustrated man and dandillion wine and skip the movie. or maybe watch the movie to get you intersested in the books
