monday tv

I've been listening to NPR all day and it's fund-raising time, so I also set a goal. I wanted to complete all 18 tie shirts that i had picked out ties for and had ready to get sewn. I had to do this before seven because that's when good tv starts and I made my goal!

I started with House. The episode was fine, the usual. Since I saw Hugh Laurie on a talk show and he looked pretty bald, I pretty much just watch his hair. I also miss the sexual tension between him and Cuddy. House needs something, but I'm not sure what it is.

Next was Lie to Me. This was also only ok. But, my back has been really hurting me lately and it was super bad today because I was sewing all day and Tim Roth walks really hunched, which made me feel like we were friends. And, there was a guy who gets turned on by blood and injury, but the lie detectors figured out pretty quickly that he didn't have anything to do with the crime and moved on. I think it's good when tv shows mention sexual strangeness but just to put it out there. Or is the exploitative?

Then on to Castle, although I forgot and we watched 15 minutes of My Name is Earl before I realized there was something better out there. The episode was not that great. I'm not sure I like Castle, but I like detectives and it fits into my tv viewing habits, so what's the harm. Both Kate Beckett and another woman had really ugly, straightened hair. That show needs some work.

  1. Tim Roth is on TV? I feel so out of touch. I just started catching up on this season of The Office. I'm not even sure I like it, but it's a strong habit. Anyway, that's great about Tim Roth. I was wondering what he's been up to since that depressing English countryside incest movie. You can tell I don't pay enough attention.

Also, I agree about the sexual strangeness, but I think it's both good to put it out there and exploitative. I'm usually okay with it because it's something to think about.

  2. did you and i see tim roth talk about the war game together? i think about and talk about seeing him talk about that movie a lot. i really like seeing people talk about the shit they made. sherman alexie, michael chabon and audry nefieieififa are all coming to the public library for free and i just can't wait. it's funny, but i don't know if like talking to people directly about shit they made, but i like to be lectured at.

  3. Was that at the Nickelodeon at BU, the tim roth thing? I was there. Were you there for American Beauty with the cast from that? That was great. I enjoy a good lecture, actually, I even enjoy a bad lecture. I'm a fan of lectures. Sometimes I think it would be nice to sit in an art history class again, for the lectures.

  4. i wasn't at american beauty because that was the disaster weekend when ben, peter and keith came out and ben and i ended up screaming at each other on beacon. but, i gave you guys my passes because i didn't have enough for everyone and then it turned out that peter and ben were driving ben's girlfriend back to college anyway, so keith and i totally could have gone. i'm still a little mad about missing that one.

ben's girlfriend rachel wallis and i had a big falling out that weekend and previously, but she lives in chicago now and i ran into her at a bar a couple weekends ago and she came up to me. we're facebook friends and i'm going to a pumpkin carving thing that she's hosting. i'm not sure i want to be friends with her again because that falling out was really bad, but i know she has cool friends and i want those friends. is that ok? she approached me...
